The
Eastern FC Bobcats (U15-Girls) won
the 2008 US Club Soccer National Cup
Regional in LaGrange, NY over the
Memorial Day weekend. After a win
and a draw on the first day of
competition, the Bobcats needed a
big victory to secure a place in the
finals. The team responded with a
huge 4-0 win against the hometown
LaGrange team. In the final against
Syracuse Blitz, the teams played a
physical match with the Bobcats
being the aggressor and leading 2-1
at the half. The second half was a
scoreless battle at mid-field as the
Blitz kept blitzing, but the Bobcats
were defiant. The Bobcats move on to
the 2008 National Cup Final in
Virginia Beach against the other 8
region winners from Florida, Texas,
California, Indiana, New Jersey,
North Carolina and Idaho.
